The Simulation-Based Engineering Lab (SBEL) visited Komatsu North America at their Longview, Texas, facility to explore opportunities for advancing vehicle–terrain interaction research. The visit included a tour of Komatsu’s heavy equipment, including the WE2350 wheel loader with its 53.5 m³ bucket capacity, one of the largest machines of its kind.
This collaboration builds on Komatsu’s participation in the Machine–Ground Interaction Consortium (MaGIC), an initiative led by SBEL to push forward innovation in modeling and simulation. SBEL extends its thanks to Bill and the Komatsu team for hosting the visit and for their ongoing partnership with the lab at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
