ProCSI (pronounced “proxy”, from Promoting the Computational Science Initiative) is a free, summer residential program on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison that seeks to introduce the participants to various research areas and concepts at the intersection of computer science and engineering.
Since 2008, the program has been organized and run on a volunteer basis by Professor Dan Negrut and the students of his Simulation-Based Engineering Lab.
Originally exclusively working with high school students, ProCSI expanded in 2022 to include college students from the California State University at Los Angeles, a college that does not offer PhD degrees. This expansion led to the creation of two separate program tracks: ProCSI-H (for high-school students) and ProCSI-C (for college students).
The links on the right guide you to pages with more information about each track. Additionally, below, you’ll find images from all the years of our high school program track.
