Alexandra Kissel, an SBEL graduate student, won the Best Student Paper Award the 2023 ASME 19th International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Control held in Boston, MA, August 20-23rd, 2023.
The paper titled “Using Velocity Partitioning in the rA Formulation to Solve the Equations of Constrained Multibody Dynamics” was authored by Alexandra Kissel, Luning Bakke (SBEL post-doc), and Dan Negrut (SBEL PI). The work presented leverages Lie group numerical integration methods in the context of a velocity partitioning approach to solving the constrained equations of motion in multibody dynamics simulation.
