Google DeepMind references a paper published by SBEL researchers and colleagues to motivate recent acquisition of MuJoCo for simulation in robotics

Dan Negrut and Asher Elmquist are among the authors of a 2021 publication in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) “On the use of simulation in robotics: Opportunities, challenges, and suggestions for moving forward”, linked here. The publication was referenced in a blog post by Google DeepMind to motivate their recent acquisition of MuJoCo. The post claims that Google DeepMind is committed to following the recommendations of the PNAS publication in developing and maintaining MuJoCo as a free and open-source simulation platform to help advance research in robotics.

Congratulations to the authors on an impactful publication! Read Google DeepMind’s blog post here
