At the beginning of December, SBEL received a $200,000 grant to upgrade the Euler supercomputer. The money will be spent to deploy a Mellanox Infiniband interconnect between the nodes of Euler. In addition, the money will be used to procure three new GPU nodes: two of them with four NVIDIA A100 GPUs each; the last node will have four NVIDIA RTX3090 cards. The hardware will be used for Machine Learning and running simulations that involve granular material and fluid-solid interaction applications.
