ProCSI-E invites high school teachers to the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus for a free, week-long residential program to share their experiences, discuss ways to strengthen their STEM curricula, and identify resources that would assist them in bringing their ideas to fruition. Teachers from rural communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
During ProCSI-E, participants will have the opportunity to
- experience UW-Madison culture by staying on campus in university housing (free of charge, meals included)
- explore cutting-edge research by attending scheduled lab tours with UW-Madison faculty and graduate students
- share their experiences and ideas, including successes and concerns, during daily presentations and discussions
To conclude the program, we will consolidate the discussions and identify action items and/or any resources that would support the participants in strengthening their STEM curriculum. The ProCSI-E hosts have coordinated a team of high school teachers to create materials and modules based on the identified needs of the participants over a 6-9 month period following the program.
