Setting up cuda nvcc on personal laptop

I have been working on euler all this while and decided to work on my personal laptop due to some dependency issues with euler.

I successfully installed cuda and was trying to build using nvcc on OS X, I get this error

make -C 0_Simple/vectorAdd
/Developer/NVIDIA/CUDA-5.0/bin/nvcc -m64 -I/Developer/NVIDIA/CUDA-5.0/include -gencode arch=compute_10,code=sm_10 -gencode arch=compute_20,code=sm_20 -gencode arch=compute_30,code=sm_30 -gencode arch=compute_35,code=sm_35 -o vectorAdd.o -c vectorAdd.cu
clang: error: unsupported option '-dumpspecs'
clang: error: no input files
make: *** [vectorAdd.o] Error 1

I was going through few forums and read that I explicitly need to point NVCC to use /usr/bin/clang (nvcc -ccbin /usr/bin/clang). This way NVCC will know it's dealing with clang.
I tried this but I keep getting the same error, maybe I am not doing it the right way.

Any advises or suggestions on how to fix this issue would be great. Thank you

Re: Setting up cuda nvcc on personal laptop

Thank you Dan.

I think I figured it out. There was a version mismatch that's causing the problem.
