Qsub unable to connect to euler

This is the error I get when I try to run qsub (with any combination of parameters):

Cannot connect to default server host 'euler' - check pbs_server daemon.
qsub: cannot connect to server euler (errno=111) Connection refused

A quick internet check suggests restarting the PBS server, however I obviously do not have privileges to do that. Anyone has a suggestion as to what is wrong?

Re: Qsub unable to connect to euler

It happens on occasion, almost always due to someone submitting/modifying a large number of jobs at once. Give it a few minutes and the server will come back.

It sounds like the 4.0 branch of Torque might fix this, but I haven't had time to test (thesis due in a few days).
