Midterm Exam

Would the exam cover topics discussed in lectures or the assigned reading or both? What material are we allowed to bring?

Re: Midterm Exam

I was not able to make class the day you spoke about the midterm as I had 2 qualifiers that day. There was no video posted due to engr expo. What was discussed regarding the exam. My understanding is no notes, but assigned readings are allowed. Anything else?

Re: Midterm Exam

Brian - I told everyone that the exam will be open books, open everything. The logic behind this was that in real life you do have access to information, and there was no reason to not factor this in for the exam.
I got an email from Kuya who asked me whether it was ok for him to bring his laptop rather than print out all the PDFs. That's ok too - you can bring a laptop and connect to the wireless to have access to the course material.
My two cents here, if you start during the exam to look up the lecture where we discussed a certain topic then you better find that info quickly since there is not a whole lot of time that you have for this exam.
I hope this helps,
Dan
