### Midterm Project

To start getting an idea of how many people will be working on each project, please select which one you plan on doing. Please note that Option 1 has been changed from N-body problem to Discrete Element Method on the GPU.

To start getting an idea of how many people will be working on each project, please select which one you plan on doing. Please note that Option 1 has been changed from N-body problem to Discrete Element Method on the GPU.

Please keep in mind that if you choose the Finite Element or Sparse Linear System Solution project you will also have to make it your Final Project since these projects are more involved.

In case you choose either the Discrete Element Method or the Collision Detection as your Midterm Project you can still make it your Final Project, but then you should go beyond a trivial implementation of the approach. For instance, for Collision Detection you wouldn't be able to implement the simple "brute force" embarrassingly parallel approach since it scales like O(N^2) .

I regret that i said in class that "Sparse direct solver for linear systems" would be hard, everybody seems to want to do this project now...
